Ron joined the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan in August of 2025 as the President of ABC of Michigan. ABC of Michigan is comprised of over 1000 members across three chapters and represents many across the Michigan construction industry.

Utilizing several years of experience in both legislative and political arenas in Michigan, Ron guides ABC of Michigan through legislative policy formation and regulatory framework across the levels of government. He has spent many election cycles advocating to get candidates with the MERIT SHOP® philosophy elected.

Prior to ABC, Ron most recently served as District Director for Congressman Tom Barrett. Before that, he served as Legislative Specialist for the County Road Association of Michigan, Chief of Staff after Legislative Director for then State Senator Tom Barrett, Legislative Aide/Policy Services for Rep. Joe Aragona and Constituent Relations for Michigan House Republican Caucus.

A graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in Political Science, Ron resides in Lansing with his wife and two children and serves his community as an Eaton County Road Commissioner.

ERIC CHAPPELL

Eric joined the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan in August of 2024 as the Director of Legislative Affairs and Operations. He is responsible for analyzing and tracking legislation relevant to ABC members, working with legislators, and managing administrative operations.

Prior to ABC, Eric spent nearly seven years as a legislative staffer in various roles for the Michigan House of Representatives. Upon graduating from Michigan State University in 2017 with a degree in international relations from the James Madison College, Eric was brought on to handle constituent relations for Representative Gary Howell of the 82nd District. Following this, he worked as the legislative director for Representative Jack O’Malley of the 101st district, and after the 2022 election, served in the same role for Representative Donni Steele of the 54th district. Most recently, Eric served as a policy advisor for the entire republican caucus, where he analyzed legislation and provided guidance for elected members and staff.

Eric was born and raised in Farmington Hills, MI and now lives in Grand Ledge with his wife, Laura.
